Kathy Barrick: MORE New Designs!

In between all the sorting, pitching, packing and carrying, I had to do something creative, so I've gotten two new designs all ready to go. The one above is called Adam & Eve Revisited. It's a tiny sampler, with a stitch count of just 82 by 61, which makes all the background filling-in much more tolerable. My model is stitched on 40-Count Meadow Rue from Lakeside with one strand of Needlepoint Silks. As always, a conversion to DMC is provided. The beautiful frame I've used is a custom frame from Total Framing in Fairfax, Virginia. All the frame details are provided on the chart.

My second new design is one you've seen before. It's Black Heart and was a project I designed for the Stitcher's Stash Retreat this past April. Here it is again:

Black Heart is stitched on 35 Count Putty from Weeks Dye Works using two strands of Needlepoint Silk over two threads of linen. The stunnnnnnning frame is from Valley House Primitives. When I stitched this sampler (yes, myself!), I used two shades of the background black - 993 and 998 from Needlepoint Silk. I randomly worked small areas of both shades of black and love how it turned out. And, as I stated above, I used two strands of silk when stitching this. It made for some tight stitching, but I love the totally filled in look I was able to get by using two strands.

The stitch count of this design is 94 wide by 100 high.
