What a Find!!
This morning I left my house at 6:00 AM (which was 5:00 in my head) and made the 2 1/2 hour drive up to the antique markets in Pennsylvania. I went up specifically to find bits of old jewelry and stuff for my jewelry designs.
And look what I found!! It's an antique petite point purse! It was locked in a showcase when I found it and when the dealer opened up the showcase and handed me the purse, I KNEW I had to reproduce the design. The colors!! The swan!!! It MUST be done!!
While it won't be reproduced as a purse, I will find a way to make it into a gorgeous sampler design using both the front and back motifs.
(Edited to add the above photo for size comparison. Thank you for the suggestion Liz!)
Does anyone know how to date this piece? I'm afraid my knowledge of purses and petite point is extremely limited, so I would appreciate any help you might be able to provide with this. Thank you!
Hope you're all having a wonderful Sunday!
