Gifts From a Friend
While in Williamsburg, Virginia for the Primitive Stitcher Society Retreat, I had the pleasure of meeting Becky Noland. Becky and I hit it off immediately and when I learned she was designing samplers, I offered to help her in any way I could.
Fast forward a month or so and Becky and I were trying to figure out the easiest way to meet about halfway between her home in Richmond, Virginia and mine in Hagerstown, Maryland.
Then Becky had a brilliant idea! Virginia Beach!!
Who can resist a trip to Virginia Beach? Certainly not me!
We decided to meet at Dyeing to Stitch in Virginia Beach on a Tuesday morning and stay in the area for fun in the sun on the beach.
That didn't happen!!! It rained the ENTIRE time we were there! We never even saw the beach - not once! But, we stayed at a fabulous resort in a gorgeous room, brought plenty of projects to work on and plenty of snacks! What more could two girls want?!
Becky brought me fabulous gifts she made with her very talented hands! She made a beautiful bag of antique linens. It's fully lined in a very French-like red and white stripe, complete with an interior pocket. It's absolutely stunning!
Inside the bag, Becky put a gorgeous red wool heart she made for me. Check it out!
And, to make the gift totally over-the-top, she found a bracelet that is totally me!
What an amazing, thoughtful and wonderful gift!
I cannot wait for Becky to introduce you to her new designs! She has great talent and creativity to spare! She's been hard at work learning the new software and hardware she's needed to produce patterns that I know will be total hits. You are all in for such a treat!!
Becky is one of the sweetest women I've ever met. She's kind, generous, has a sense of humor that totally clicks with mine. Her taste in music is both eclectic and fantastic! She kept up entertained with a play-list that wouldn't quit! She's also a talented interior decorator. And, she has a source for the BEST cupcakes you'll ever have in your whole life!
Visit Becky's blog when you get a chance - it's WONDERFUL! Here's the link:
Dyeing to Stitch, by the way, is an amazing shop!!! Anne Robbins was working the day Becky and I went and she's such a joy! Their supply of linens, threads and patterns is HUGE!!
So, go to Virginia Beach whenever you can! Visit Dyeing to Stitch, hit the beach, catch some rays, say hello from both Becky and me, and avoid the rain at all costs!

Hi Kathy: It is always nice to meet fellow stitchers, I have had the pleasure a few times myself.
Virginia Beach is on my bucket list for when I retire.
Love the bag, it is adorable.
Blessings
Catherine
