Tis the Season!
Last spring I purchased this incredible antique terrarium from Jimmie Cramer. He was SO kind...he let me make payments on it for literally months, while the piece was already in my house.
I've had it on my kitchen table ever since, filled with large wooden acorns, birds' eggs, birds' nests, a dried moth I found, a stuffed wood thrush and other nature-y treasures.
Today I updated it for Christmas!
I recently scored a bunch of magnolia branches and other greens and Liz had given me some huge pine cones. They surround an antique cement deer I also purchased from Jimmie a long time ago.
I added the wood thrush and called it done.
It will have to stay on my kitchen table as between the terrarium and the cement deer, it weighs a ton!
I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving! I spent mine with my family at my sister's house in Silver Spring. It was a wonderful day! The rest of my Thanksgiving weekend was spent working at Beaver Creek. It was the mall's Christmas Open House and those three days were the most exhausting I've spent in a long, long time! And I had to work there Monday as well. So I'm a tired girl, way behind on my Christmas decorating, with an apartment that needs to be cleaned top to bottom, with Christmas shopping that still needs to be done, with absolutely no food in the house and with an almost-but-not-quite overwhelming urge to sleep!

I enjoy seeing the far from standard decorating that you creative types come up with. This is just perfect!
It's spectacular, Kathy! I LOVE it!
I know exactly how you feel Kathy. I haven't done any decorating yet. Just so little time it seems. Now I am getting ready to go to the Just Cross Stitch, "Christmas in Williamsburg". Need to drop off my Trunk Show tomorrow. Maybe then I can get a little shopping done. Absolutely love your centerpiece.
