A Very Weird Give Away

Remember my post when I told you about my ripping error?  Well, I re-stitched the sampler and am left with an unfinished sampler I don't quite know what to do with.  If I were a finishing girl, I would turn it into something wonderful I'm sure.  But a finishing girl I am not!

So, would any of you like this unfinished sampler with a glaring mistake in house construction?

If so, please leave a comment on this post, tell me what you'd do with this little piece of Kathy-stitched linen, and I'll choose a name in a week or so and send it off to a brand new home.  Please be a follower of my blog.

Thank you!

I really don't see an error. I would finish it and make a small pillow out of it. Something to sit on my bench with other pillows. I've made mistakes before and just went with it. Sometimes you just have to live with the mistakes, most people won't notice them.

I'd love to try! I would probably finish it off and then turn it into a pocket or needlebook.

Weird? I think it's a fabulous giveaway. I stitch errors and create broken threads, sand my linen, make a hole here and there, deliberately stain it, run it over, and beat the crap out of it. I don't see anything weird here! Would love to own this.

I don't really see a glaring error, but regardless, I would love a chance at winning. I would absolutely frame it, I think it is adorable.

Hi - I think its beautiful - I make purses and bags, I would repurpose it - into a bag or something like that.

As with everyone else, I don't see an error. It's a fabulous giveaway! I've seen a couple samplers on blogs lately where they were actually nailed to an old board. Very prim looking. I've been wanting to give it a try so that's probably what I would do with it. Love the colors in this one!
Have a great day!

Love it! I'm not big on filing in, so I would put a wool appliqué house on top using old blanket wool, then make it into a pinkeep. Would love the chance to win:)

Oh this is so pretty. I don't see the error either! I would probably make it into a pin pillow. Please count me in!!

Please count me in. I think I would try to find an appropriate charm to place over the area, finish the filling in and then make into a wall hanging or flatfold finish.

Ooo, i think it needs to be made into a box shape to sit on my mantle.

Faye said...

Hmmmm.... I'd finish the stitching, then sew complimentary wools on each side of the linen to make it into a rectangle... Then I'd finish it into a pin drum... Been doing drums lately and this one would be an awesome addition! Thanks, Faye

I would love to win your unfinished sampler. I would make it into a stabilizing weight for stitching.

Hi Kathy,
I love your new designs...thank you!
If I were to become caretaker of your little orphan I would carry it around in my stitching bag as a reminder that to err is human, to forgive is divine.
Best,
Jenny

I barely see the error. I would finish it up and do some "priming" it up and probably make it into a pillow or pinkeep

I love this and would love a chance to finish it.

Hi Kathy!!!
I would make it into a very primitive pin keep!! If anything left, I would put a piece of it in a glass pendent, with a piece of vintage lace or crochet on the other side, and wear it! I could also mount it on a box that i would paint and distress, line the inside with old book pages? I could also make it into a book cover? The possiblities are many!!!!

This a a fun giveaway. I love reading all the ideas....especially run it over and beat the crap out of it! My first idea was to appliqué over the error but will have to find it first!

Since this is a "weird give away", I would frame it just the way it is! In fact the colors matches the room that I have all my samplers hung....I love it!!

Thanks for considering my entry.

Kathy I love this little sampler and I think that the hole should stay, may be I would add some stain to it to make it look very old, as for what to finish it into I have to hold them in my hands for a bit until the perfect idea comes. I'm am loving all of your new patterns the ideas are back!
It looks like no matter who wins this little gem will go to a wonderful home!

Weird, you say! Not a bit. I would consider it a huge honor to have a piece you stitched. I wouldn't change a single thing about it. Just give it a nice frame to rest in. Thank you for the opportunity to enter.

I would love to be in the draw for this. I think that I would also make it into a pin pillow. It would be an honour to have this in my possession.

I Have the perfect antique box that I could attach it to the top of the lid of. Then line the wooden box with some calico fabric to compliment the beautiful stitching....Thanks
