A Contest/Give Away!
Today I drove to Philadelphia for a Gem and Jewelry Show. LONG drive, great show, fabulous beads, empty wallet!
The beads I purchased are shown in the three photos above. They are: iolite, bi-color quartz, green amethyst, South Sea pearls and Keisha pearls.
Here's the contest part: whoever can guess the exact amount paid for the beads above (no sales tax), will receive a pair of earrings I make for them using the beads I purchased today. You've got one week. I'll pop in to the comments section occasionally to let you know if you're high or low.

I know you're out of the cross stitch business now, but I wanted to tell you that after a solid year and a half of stitching, I finished The Shores of Hawk Run Hollow last night during Grey's Anatomy.
This was the cross stitch of my life. It's like you plucked everything I love out of my psyche and put it in the pattern. Thank you for creating something I'll treasure for the rest of my life. :)

Hm. Totally out of my realm of knowledge, but I'll venture a guess, only because I think that you are buying top quality for your insanely beautiful creations... $475.
I love going to the gem and jewelry shows! And the prices can't be beat. It has been many years since I have gone to one, and I have no idea what the prices are now. I'd take a wild guess that you spent about $10 per stand. The last time I went I think that would have been a high guess.
Are you going to the Tucson show in 2011?

Having been in the business a few years ago and judging from the pictures these are high quality beads. I would say $580. Nice selection!

For THE DESPERATE HOUSEWIFE..I have one block left to do on my shores and I'm finished too..Absolutely love the way it's turning out..I've been working on it 18 months as well..

Hi. I went to YouPearl.com trying to get an idea of price and learned a lot about Keshi and other shapes of pearls. Now I want a choker of these beauties. I'm off to learn about the other gems now - this may take a while.
Well, my best guess would be $43.00,sounds low, I know but a jewelery fair has smokin" prices! Smiles....

I just wanted to thank you again for designing Shores of Hawk Run Hollow. I bought the chart almost as soon as it was published, but it took me almost 2 years to stitch it. I finally finished stitching it over the summer, and I just got it back from the framer’s last night.
I love it! I used the recommended fabric, but in the 32ct, and I had it triple matted, so it’s a very sizeable piece!
I have recently started working on Christmas at Hawk Run Hollow; I’m doing that one in 32ct also, and I’m making it 4 x 3, so that it be the same size/shape as Shores. I probably won’t have that one finished anytime soon, but I hope it turns out as well as Shores.
