Two Posts in One Day!!
This afternoon I finished putting the first coat of paint on the walls in my new studio. I still have to do all the cutting in, but all the rolling is done. After a trip to Lowes to buy more paint, I'll be able to finish painting completely tomorrow. Then the moving can start! I'd love to be all moved in this weekend, but am not sure if that can happen or not. Hopefully I can be completely set up sometime next week. As you can see, there's a small room behind my studio that I'll be able to use for storage. No more boxes and bags of bubblewrap all over the place! This room is more than twice the size of my current workroom. It's going to be fabulous!!
I love it down in the barn. It's a huge, huge barn, built in 1893. We assume it's the second barn on this site because barns were always built before houses and our house was built in 1804. It's completely pegged - no nails were used to construct the beamed frame. I'll post photos of the outside once we get it painted. We got the barn roof painted this summer, but didn't get the barn itself done. Everything always takes longer than you think. (See paragraph above. I probably have the most unreasonable expectations!)
Another reason for taking photos inside the barn today was to search for bats. I am truly terrified of bats. In the summer, dozens of them live in our barn. Art keeps telling me it's a good thing, but I just can't buy it. I'm so happy my studio is completely enclosed!

I'm off to Lowes. Hope you're all having a good one!
