A Jewelry Day

Today I made jewelry. FINALLY!! It had been weeks and weeks. Much too long.

So I made up for it today. I made five necklaces. Yay!

I used cameos, mother of pearl, birds,

hearts, slide lockets, French medals,

portraits, souvenirs, aquamarine, kyanite,

love tokens, rosary beads, sterling silver,

watch chains, sterling clasps, green garnets,

and MORE!!

I'm such a lucky girl!

I just found out from my printer that my charts will be ready today!!! YAY!!!!!!

So, throughout the day, until my charts are ready, I'll be posting photos of the rest of my new designs.

This one is called "October 31st."

I realize it's not exactly "season-appropriate" but at least you'll have plenty of time to get it done by Halloween!

An Update

I've spent the last two days doing nothing but working on my charts. Everything has been sent to the printer's and should be ready in less than a week. YAY!

I thought I'd give you another sneak peek at a new design, just to keep you interested!

HOME!!!

Made it home yesterday!!! I was so excited and so busy working, that I totally forgot to let you know that we made it home!

My dogs were SO happy to see me! They met me in the driveway and instantly covered me with kisses and muddy paws!

Guess what was waiting at home for me.....two finished samplers from stitcher extraordinaire Beth and four finished frames from frame-maker extraordinaire Janet of Valley House Primitives. I got all of my framing finished last night and will get the photographing done this morning. Then I can work on the cover sheets for my charts and get them to the printer to start printing. YAY!!!! It won't be long now.

I can hardly wait to make jewelry. It's been so long since I've sat at my bench. There were a few French treasures that arrived while I was gone and I can't wait to get to work on them.

Road Trip - Days 3 and 4

I'm back! Sorry for not posting yesterday. We had no internet connection in our hotel. So, I'm back to day with a summary of Days 3 and 4.

After checking out the weather channel in Mitchell on the evening of Day 2, we learned Sioux Falls was expecting a blizzard on Sunday. So we got up early and high tailed it out of town Saturday morning instead of antiquing with Kim as we had hoped to do. We obviously scare easily! From Sioux Falls, we headed South and then East.

By Saturday evening, we had made it into Davenport, Iowa, so we stayed there for the night. We left Davenport about 8:00 this morning and made it through Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, and into Ohio as far as Cleveland today....almost 500 miles. According to MapQuest, we only have 358 miles to go until we're home! Yay!!

Besides the great distance we've traveled, I have nothing exciting to report. We haven't made any fun stops at all, just frequent dog pit stops. Ruby and Curly are adjusting well to hotel life and would like nothing more than to be set free to run the hallways and cannot understand why we won't let them do that!

OH, I've forgotten to tell you that my visit to Stitcher's Stash in Fairfax, Virginia has been postponed until February 23rd. Jackie will be (or already has) sent out an email announcing that, but if you don't receive her emails, I wanted to let you know as well. The hours I'll be there are still 11:00-3:00.

Road Trip Day 2

Hello from South Dakota!! We had a great day for traveling - perfect weather, gorgeous views, well-behaved dogs and lots of laughter until Anne lost her voice!

We left Billings at 8:30 this morning, drove through Wyoming and arrived in Mitchell, South Dakota this evening. Major progress!

While in Sundance, Wyoming I thought of Robert Redford and in South Dakota I thought of Kim, quilter, stitcher, knitter and jewelry collector extraordinaire. Since we're about an hour form Sioux Falls where Kim lives, I'm going to send her an email and ask if she can recommend good antique shops for us to check out tomorrow morning before we head into Iowa.

Those of you in New England, please take care. I hope you are warm and safe and sound.

Road Trip - Day 1

Anne and I left this morning for our trip back to Pennsylvania. We left Kalispell, Montana at noon, drove until 7:00 PM and made it as far as Billings, Montana.

Kalispell is in the North Western corner of Montana and Billings is in South Central/South Eastern Montana.

The dogs were great, the weather was gorgeous, the speed limit was 75 and the conversation was just about perfect!

Tomorrow we'll follow Route 90 South East through Wyoming and hopefully into South Dakota.

I'm Soooo Sorry, But....

I'm changing plans yet again.

I'm currently in Montana. These photos are from the back of Anne's house. The view is amazing!

Anyway, Anne's Dad died yesterday. The memorial service will be Wednesday and my flight home is scheduled for Thursday.

BUT, Anne is ready to move back to the East Coast and we'll be driving home instead of flying. We'll be leaving Thursday and it should take us about five or six days to make the trip. So, I'll have to postpone releasing my new designs one more week.

Please be patient with me! They really are coming! I'll be working like crazy to get my charts completely ready as soon as I get home and will release them as soon as possible.

I PROMISE!!!
