Forgot
I forgot to tell you that it's possible Sharon Crescent from Crescent Colours will be making the frames for my Curse of the Raven sampler. YAY!
The St. Charles Market
I'm back and life has quickly returned to normal! It was a WONDERFUL market and I had such a good time! I've got lots of photos to share.
I've spent the last two days, all day, filling orders. Not Market orders, but before- and after-market orders. WOW!!! So, every shop that has ordered my charts will have them appear at their doorstep in the next couple days.
Boy do I miss making jewelry!! Tonight, I'll be moving over to my jewelry bench, no matter what!
Gotta run, Anne is waiting for me. I'll post photos tonight!

The Frame for Curse of the Raven

I've been getting many inquiries about the frame for The Curse of the Raven (Ashes to Ashes). Here's the low down:
Got to Target and look in their frame section. Look for a white chippy frame with blue and olive green stripes on the side. The front opening measurements are 3 1/2 x 5. When Anne and I found ours, they were on sale for $6.88 or something like that.
Paint the front of the frame an olive-y green. Give it two coats for good measure. After that dries, paint the front and sides of the frame black. Cover it thoroughly. After the black dries completely, use steel wool or very fine sandpaper to remove a little of the black paint - just a little. You want the olive green to show through a little, not tons. When you're happy with the results use a metalic gold marker to write "Ashes to ashes" and "Dust to dust" on the "stripes" of the frame using your very best handwriting. I practiced about twenty times and it was still scary! But, if you screw up, just recoat with black and try again.
Easy, easy, easy!

Other New Designs

(If you click on the photos, you'll be able to zoom in for better viewing!)I'm getting ready to leave for the weekend. I'm doing Lori Brechlin's Gathering of Friends in VA this weekend and am getting together with some friends after that. I'll be back Sunday night. In the meantime, I wanted to share photos of my other two new designs. They are: The Curse of the Raven and A Mind Independent & Free.
Not to bore you to death, but to remind everyone of the availability of these charts: if your LNS attends the St. Charles Market, they will have my new designs the weekend of September 26th & 27th. If your LNS is on my automatic, those charts will be shipped out immediately when I return from St. Charles. If your LNS contacts me ahead of time and pre-orders, charts will also ship out when I return from St. Charles.
If you need to contact me over the weekend, please feel free to email me at kbdieter@aol.com or to call my cell at 443-536-6710. I do not have an answering machine at my house. My cell phone reception in VA is horrible, so please feel free to leave a voice mail and I'll get back to you when I can.
Thanks!

The Whole Thing!

And here is the sampler, in it's gorgeous frame (from Valley House Primitives).
Thank you all for bearing with me!
Monday Morning

I stayed up much too late working last night. I think it was 3:00 am when I finally called it quits. Art woke me up at 6:30 to follow him to the car place to drop off his truck. I've orders to fill, a trip to the post office, then it's back to bed for me!
Happy Monday!

Sunday Afternoon

Just got back from a fabulous flea market near Carlisle, PA. There was a lady there who had the BEST jewelry AND she was willing to negotiate on prices. What fun!
Happy Sunday!

No Photo, But....
I just wanted to say thank you to all of you for your sweet, sweet comments! They have warmed my soul and I'm very grateful.
To answer some of your questions....
The sampler is stitched on 40 count Examplar from Lakeside Linens. The total stitch count is 278 by 371. The stitch count for each block is 92 by 92. Lakeside is doing a special cut for this piece in 32-, 36- and 40-count linen.
The chart will be released at the St. Charles Market on September 26th & 27th. (Just TWO weeks away - OH NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)
It will not be available for downloading, but will have to be purchased as a hard copy. If your lns attends the St. Charles Market, they will have it the weekend of September 26th & 27th. I'm thinking the next Hawk Run Hollow Piece is going to be Autumn at Hawk Run Hollow. It will incorporate (but not be limited to) lots of Halloween designs, which should be lots of fun!
I'm off to put charts together. You should see my studio. It's in it's very worst state. Maybe you shouldn't see my studio!
Hope everyone has a great weekend!

CHRH

My plan for today was to post about something else, just to add a little suspense to your life. But, it seems I need to add a little spice to MY life as I've done absolutely nothing post worthy.
Anyway, this is Block Eight.
