Happy Black Friday!

What an unusual Thanksgiving we had! Although Art's surgery went well on Wednesday, he wasn't up for the two hour trip to my sister's for Thanksgiving dinner, so we stayed home. It was one of those weird kind of days when I didn't feel like doing anything, but was kind of bored all day. A totally non-productive day.

The only thing I did manage to do was get a huge number of my models uploaded onto my Etsy page. Check them out when you have a chance: www.kathybarrick.etsy.com. It was definitely time to thin out the number of models I have.

How Do I Do This??

How, oh how, do I let this happen? My poor studio! It's in a horrible mess. I HAVE been busy.

I've had three major projects going on the last couple of weeks. The first was framing 18 samplers for my Mom. Every year she stitches and stitches and hands me her finished work to frame. It's a HUGE job. But, it's done, thank goodness. I delievered them to her house in Maryland this morning.

And, I've been getting ready for the York Folk Art Show which was this past weekend. It was a wonderful show! And I'm SO happy it's over!

My third big project has been designing Autumn at Hawk Run Hollow. It's not finished yet, but I have eight of the twelve blocks done. Carol is stitching like a crazy woman, even though I've asked and asked that she not stress over this. It would be wonderful if it were ready in time for Nashville in late February. But if it's not, that's fine too! (Carol, NO stressing!!)

Tomorrow is clean the studio day. You'll be SO impressed!!

Wednesday Art has more plastic surgery on his face. Thanksgiving probably won't be a big event for us this year. I'd love to make it to my sister Marty's for Thanksgiving with her family, but chances are Art won't feel very well. This is his second surgery on his face and there will probably be one or two more. Flying face first into a tree isn't easy on the face!

I will, though, enjoy having some free time to create and play in my studio. And design of course! And, Christmas is coming and you know what that means in my house. It's time to start making trips up to the attic and bring down the Christmas goodies! I LOVE doing that!

Please remind me of this when it's time to un-decorate!

Today Show

Did you blink? Did you not have on your cheater glasses? Did you not stand really, really close to the screen? If so, you probably missed my one moment of fame on the Today Show this morning!!

But, there it was! And, Etsy has put a link on their home page to the Today Show pieces which takes you to a photo of my piece and if you click on that photo, you can really see it!!

Back to my real life now!

News for Today

The photo has nothing to do with the post, but posts without photos are kind of boring, so....

InStyle Magazine is going to do a segment on the Today Show featuring some jewelry from Etsy and one of my pieces was selected! How cool is that?! I believe it's airing on Monday, November 9th. Needless to say, I'll be glued to my TV!

And, Autumn in the Hollow is coming along! I'm just over half-way done designing it and Carol has her lightening needles ready to go. Thank goodness for Carol! Hopefully, it will be a Nashville release in February.

The only other news I can think of is that I'll be doing the York Folk Art Show November 20, 21 and 22nd. I'll have lots of charts and lots of jewelry!
